First Escape to Sunda Kelapa Harbor - Part 01 (Start)

On that day: April 11, 2010

I stay in Jakarta for years but I never been visited Sunda Kelapa Harbor.
Finally on April 2010, I had an opportunity to explore the harbor. It was the first opportunity and after my first visit Sunda Kelapa become one of my favorite place in Jakarta.

Sunda Kelapa Harbor is a traditional harbor and has been operated since a hundred year ago. This old port served as the main port of Batavia until the late 19th century, when the Netherlands East Indies government decided to build a new Tanjung Priok port.

I was starting my journey by riding a boat. Many rental boats can be found around here. Just looking of a man standing beside his boat and ask him to rowing us around the port. Some of the boats have its motor and the other just using manual row. Better to share the boat with friends to reduce cost.
